Past Projects

Cap'n Jack from 2007.  I made the pants, shirt, vest and coat.  The rest was purchased at a local costume shop.

50's day at school with a co-worker.  Poodle skirts are so simple to create.

The Burger King from 2006, one of my favorite costumes.  My husband still wears it when we go to the renaissance festival sans the mask.

 Tudor undergarments

 Corset complete with wooden busk.

I added the bum roll to the pictures although I never wear it, just a personal preference.

The underskirt is made of white cotton and copper silk, unfortunately the color doesn't show correctly in the pictures.

This is one of my most favorite costumes, I love wearing it.
Close up of trim, pearls and beads around the neckline.

Close up of buttons on the under sleeves.  The under sleeves are made from the same copper silk as the under skirt.

The picture really doesn't do this fabric justice, in this picture it looks brown and yellow but actually it is green and copper.

Cartridge pleating along the side and back of the skirt.

My pirate costume, I made for Halloween this year.  I patterned it after a costume I saw here on another blog.  Hers is much better, much more detail and an awesome jacket.  I on the other hand, whipped mine up in two days time because I procrastinated so long on what kind of costume I wanted.  The shirt, skirt and under skirt are all made of linen.  I hand dyed the shirt and under skirt using tea, I think they turned out nicely.  The corset pattern I found on this page.  The pattern was really easy to follow.  The hardware I ordered here.
